YT: Debunking Myths of Misandry
Misandry is about violating patriarchal entitlements and norms, not discrimination against men
Misandry is a whataboutism to stop conversations around misogyny and to scapegoat women for how men are harmed by dysfunctional patriarchal and imperial systems.
Rather than describing any true structural and cultural forms of discrimination against men, misandry is a dog whistle to shame women who violate patriarchal entitlements that demand women keep sweet, obey, and always perform inferiority to ensure men consume FEELING superior to her.
In the embedded YouTube chat below, Coco breaks down the myth of misandry in devastating detail. The following is a brief description of all topics covered.
Misandry is also a DARVO tactic (Deny, Attack, Reverse Victim and Offender) to project assumptions of hatred onto women who refuse to view themselves as the subhuman property of men. Originally coined in the mid 19th century by newspapers disparaging first wave feminists mobilizing to secure legal personhood and the right to vote, misandry accuses women who value their own humanity of hating men.
Since it’s inception, misandry has literally always meant that women who refuse to be the subhuman property of a man must hate men. Whenever you hear the term misandry, I want you to pause and think what patriarchal entitlement is being violated? How does this person feel that I am not self sacrificing or self censoring in service of advancing and protecting men’s interests and feelings?
Are you speaking too truthfully and directly? Are you speaking from a place of authority and knowledge instead of pretending that you’re literally just a girl?
Misogyny is a near universal and transhistoric phenomena that subjugates, scapegoats, and vilifies women regardless of who they are, what choices they make, or how they speak. There is no example of any true forms of misandry as redpill communities and patriarchal men claim.
Many of the same redpill and mens rights communities who complain about misandry are the same communities creating, promoting, and bonding over misogynistic violence against women.
Breaking down the truth of misogyny in action (and it's profitability), Coco analyzes examples from the violently pornographic No Mercy video game and recent news stories highlighting the prevalence of online communities where men bond and teach each other how to harm the women in their lives. Pulling from conversations from the Left Wing Men's Rights Communities [screenshot below], Coco shows how their claims of structural misandry have nothing to do with women, but are the result of patriarchal, capitalistic, and imperial systems.
While Coco appreciates that men do face real challenges, scapegoating feminism through claims of misandry is simply a form of learned helpless and a refusal to rewrite the dysfunctional patriarchal handbook they inherited.
Later in the chat, Coco traces the history of the term misandry to the birth of First Wave Feminism with the 1848 Seneca Falls Women's Convention. Coco shows that misandry was first coined to ridicule women advocating for legal personhood and recognition of their humanity.
Misandry has always meant a woman who refused to be the property of a man and to see herself as such. It’s always been a tool for men to avoid taking responsibility for how their own patriarchal beliefs create real harm to their own lives.
